File Sharing Websites are Block In Indi

Video lovers who watches their favorite videos or likes to share interesting clippings on file sharing sites such as Rapidshare, Mediafire, Megaupload, Hotfile, Fileserve and more will not be able to do so henceforth in India. Department of Telecom (DoT) has blocked most of the leading file sharing and video sharing websites in the country with a message on the sites: “This site has been blocked as per instructions from Department of Telecom (DOT).”

Confirmed reason for this ban is still unknown but piracy may be the first priority for this ban, says blogs and sites covering the news.

The worst part of this ban is for those video lovers who are a paid member to these sites and have paid the annual membership fee in advance. Moreover, it is a bad news for those people in the country who generates revenue by sharing their content through the sites.

Banning few video and file sharing sites may not help the Indian government to stop piracy as there are uncountable numbers of blogs and websites that shares newly released videos and audios. YouTube is one of those, and the most popular, where users can share new videos, though in some cases the videos are removed later.

Apart from this, a simple search in Google gives a flood of results with songs and video sties and blogs.
