ABSTRACT
In today’s fast paced world, life has become so luxurious to the present man that he has all the comfort right at his fingertips. Time has seen man grow in communication and now we don’t even require wire to communicate. Wireless communication has announced its arrival on the big stage and the world is going mobile. Man wants to control everything without moving an inch from his place in other words – REMOTE CONTROLLING appliances and this have been made possible through Embedded Systems in Communication.
This project report discusses how a simple SMS from a mobile can be used to control a street lights. Further in this report the hardware requirements; and potential applications have also been touched upon.
INTRODUCTION
Remote control is a well-known approach used in various fields. But since mobile communication is evolving rapidly it's use as a remote access control is even recent approach. One important aspect of this telecommunication is to control the electronic devices using mobile phone, which is the objective of this project.
Here an attempt is made to control the street lights through the SMS, which is sent by user to mobile, which is connected with the circuit and thus process the incoming data (using the micro controller) so as to perform the required task.
Time management is an important aspect of this project. In addition to it, the necessity of the user being physically present at the site (for activation of the devices) is absolutely immaterial as his virtual presence over-rules the former.
With this circuit we can control up to street lights by sending a specific SMS with any mobile phone. Its very useful at the cases that, the ONN or OFF of street lights engage a special person. The controlling that we can do to the devices, it's only ON or OFF.

Dial2Open have just developed a system for operating street lighting which can be done with a simple phone call that can communicate with up to 20 Street lights without any call costs.
ReplyDeleteThe system is a self contained quad band system with dual 30 amp relays on board and can also be used to inform power failures and control light sensors.
Thanks mann!! for sharing this valuable info with us .. I really didn't know about this !!
ReplyDeleteinstead of using cell phone.....we can use light sensor,if the sensor detects sunlight or artificial light....street lamps goes off
ReplyDeleteyuppp... that also work but now a days the Light sensor circuitry are giving errors.
ReplyDeletethats why???
i need the abstract and the required material regarding the project gsm controlled street lighting
